Are you experiencing sudden memory loss?

If you're experiencing Sudden Memory Loss and have been taking statin drugs, you may be suffering from transient global amnesia (TGA). TGA is a disease where you are unable to form new memories. Recently this disease has been linked to statin medication taken to lower cholesterol levels.

In one case study, it was observed that patients using statin drugs tended to perform lower on cognitive tests than those who were not on the drug. It was also observed that 56% of the patients who experienced sudden memory loss as a result of statins showed improvement after halting the statin treatment. Also, 50% of the patients studied reported instances of sudden memory loss within 2 months of beginning the statin treatment.

Statin treatments are used to lower the cholesterol levels in patients. However, it has been found that these drugs may do more harm than good. Not only had statin medication been linked to sudden memory loss, but it has also been found that it depletes the body of an important anti-oxidant which ultimately results in muscle depletion and heart failure. There has also been a case study where women taking Pravachol, a statin drug, were found to have a higher number of patients developing breast cancer than those who weren't taking the drug. Before looking to reduce your cholesterol using this treatment, please think of the health risks involved. Lower cholesterol may be good, but it isn't worth the extra risks gained from using harmful medication.
