Why you lose your memory: memory loss causes

Memory loss causes are usually credited to age, but there are also other factors that affect your memory in adverse ways. One large proponent of memory loss causes is disease. Diseases such as Alzheimer's or even diabetes can cause memory loss.

Alzheimer's disease is one that gradually reduces the number of your brain cells and affects a person's memory. The memory loss causes a detriment in the person's ability to learn and even agitates the diagnosed. The illness begins with the memory and thinking skills and spreads to all parts of the brain, eventually causing death. Although there is no known cure for Alzheimer's disease, if it is diagnosed early, there are treatments that can slow down the process.

Diabetic patients suffer from memory loss due to low blood sugar levels. Because diabetes does not allow cells to fuel themselves with sugar, they become starved and begin to die. This begins to affect brain cells and becomes a cause of memory loss.

Another main player in memory loss causes is stress, depression, and trauma.

Depression is known to me a major source of memory loss in older patients, but is a potential threat to people of all ages. Stress is known to release hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. Constant exposure to these hormones causes the death of your nerve-cells and eventually memory loss as well. However, unlike Alzheimer's, these memory loss causes are definitely treatable and curable. Be sure to look for symptoms and have regular medical checkups in order to find and diagnose these problems early. If found early, it will be much easier to treat and eventually cure these problems.
